House with a View

Informed by the location, a plot at the edge of Amsterdam with a unique and expansive view, we used the private bedrooms of the house as a podium for the living and kitchen. The extra height offers our clients the best of the natural surroundings without cars and lampposts disrupting the view.
The 'taco shell' opens up to the expansive view while providing privacy from the neighbors.

The two ends of the 'taco' both frame a different view and a different time of day. The study is aimed towards the east so it catches the first rays of the sun.

The curved window seamlessly connects the study with the kitchen and the living while inviting the garden in.
